China
has included the disputed Spratlys in a map printed in their new
e-passport. The Philippines, India and Vietnam have strongly denounced
this. China has also been claiming the Scarborough Reef, also known as
Bajo de Masinloc, which is120 miles off
the Zambales town of that name.
The Carta General del Archiepelago
Filipino (section of it shown here), printed in Madrid in 1862, shows
that 'Bajo Masing/Scarborough' (which we encircled in red in the
picture) has always been part of Philippine territory.
